The small town of Protaras has much to offer.Overlooked by green rolling hills and the beautifu little church of Profitis Elias, which stands on a rocky outcrop over 100meters above sea level, The festival of the Prophet Elias is on July 20. A two-day festival is held here in the pedestrianised area of the town and stalls and cafes are set up selling traditional Cypriot foods and sweets. Protaras is a lively, bustling town. Nearby you’ll find the wonderful beaches with golden white sand and sparkling blue waters, these beaches are some of the best on the island.You will find rugged cliffs standing high over small bays and traditional cyprus fishtavernas serving fresh fish while you take in the spectacular views. The roads in Protaras are of a very high standard, with wide cycle tracks and pavements at the sides of most roads. The entire length of the main coastal road from the town of Paralimni via Protaras to Ayia Napa (about 15km) is lined with a track that is ideal for walkers and bikers.
